Fireworks can be a fun way to celebrate the 4th of July, but they can also be dangerous
Here are a few safety tips and regulations to have a safe holiday.
Light fireworks on the ground. Do not hold them when lighting them.
Keep children and pets away from the fireworks.
Children should not light fireworks. Only adults should light fireworks.
Stay sober while lighting fireworks. Do not mix fireworks and alcohol.
Wet down the area where you will set off your fireworks. Have a way to extinguish accidental fires, like a fire extinguisher or water hose.
Ensure fireworks are pointed away from people, buildings, powerlines, and trees.
Have a phone nearby to call 911 in case of an emergency.
Review local and state laws on fireworks.
