VA 4PM BURN BAN IS IN EFFECT
The current Engine 11 replaced the old Engine 11. It was put into service on July 25, 2020.
Engine 11 is a 2020 Pierce Arrow XT Engine. It is equipped with a 1000-gallon tank and a 1500 gpm pump with a Hercules CAFS system.
Engine 12 is a 2009 Pierce Arrow XT engine. It is equipped with a 1000-gallon tank and a 1500 gpm pump with a Hercules CAFS system. It has two 1.75” cross lays each 200’ of hose, it has a 300' of 2.5” hose in the hose bed. It carries 1200’ of 4” hose. It carries a 24’ extension ladder, a 14’ roof ladder, and a 10’ attic ladder. Engine 12 also has a K12 saw and an Stihl MS 291. Engine 12 was equipped in 2016 with extrication equipment. This includes spreaders, cutters, air bags, rescue struts, and other various tools for entrapments.
Engine 13 is a 2000 Pierce Quantum pumper tanker. It carries 2500 gallons of water and has a 1500 gpm pump. Since Engine 13 is a tanker it also has a jet dump to quickly transfer its water. Engine 13 has three 1.75” cross lays each 200’ of hose, and 300’ of 2.5” attack line in the hose bed. Engine 13 also carries 1200’ of 4” supply line and 600’ of 3” supply line. Engine 13 carries a 28’ extension ladder, a 14’ roof ladder, and a 10’ attic ladder.
Brush 16 is a 2005 Ford F550 outfitted with brush equipment. It has a 400-gallon tank and it also carries foam. The brush truck has a 300’ reel of booster line, as well as, 1100’ of forestry line and an unconnected 150’ section of 1.75” hose. For the supply line, the brush truck has two 8' sections of 2.5" suction hose . The brush truck also carries a little giant ladder, chain saws, and leaf blowers, as well as, a winch that can be mounted to the front or rear of the vehicle to pull the truck out either direction.
Truck 1 is a 2013 Smeal Sirius 105’ quint. It has a 500-gallon water tank and a 2000 gpm pump. It has three cross lays, two 200’ of 1.75” hose, and 200’ of 2.5” hose, and a 1.75” bumper line. It carries 4” supply line and a variety of equipment including a various ground ladders, RIT pack, stokes basket, hand tools, saws, and rope rescue equipment. This truck is owned by Amherst County and is currently housed at AFD.
Utility 1 is a 2016 Ford F-350 4x4 crew cab long bed. It has a 6.7L Powerstroke Diesel engine and is equipped to handle lifting assistance calls, minor incidents, and assist on larger incidents. It is also used for transportation to and from trainings, special events, and department business.
Boat 11 is used for swift water rescue, flood rescue and, other technical rescues. More information to come.
