Amherst Fire Department is a volunteer organization. We provide emergency services to the town of Amherst and the surrounding area. Amherst Fire Department responds to an average of 450 calls a year. Those calls consist of structure  fires, forest fires, vehicle fires, hazmat incidents, vehicle accidents, swift water rescue, technical rescue and many more.
